Axel

Axel. This is the last of the Twisted Metal 2 battle cars. Axel is one bad motivator and you do not want to get very close to Daddy's Revenge 209. Once in range, the Supernova Shockwave is enough to blow you to rooftop level in a hurry. This vehicle had decent speed, better than average armor and a brutal special weapon. Axel was a lot of fun to play with and quite devastating.

This custom Axel took a while to prefabricate. A set of Hotwheels monster truck wheels were used for the frame but had to engineer the rest. Found a figurine that looked pretty close. Had to break the arms at the elbow and shift them down into the crucifix pose. Had to use clay and not epoxy putty to mold the interior that surrounds and locks in Axel. The clay work took me over three hours to form into position. Axel was then placed on a base at the bottom and clay was again used to tie the rest together. Testors model glue was then applied over the clay and it hardens like a rock. Machine guns at the bottom and rocket launchers up top were added for extra killing power. Afterwards, a custom paint job was applied to Axel and his death machine!
